University Insurance Group November 2026 Newsletter

November is here, and with it comes a season of gratitude. As we gather around the table this month, we're thankful for you, our clients, who trust us with what matters most.
This fall we also celebrated a milestone: 20 years of University Insurance Group. Two decades of protecting Florida families and businesses, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you.
This month's newsletter includes a year-end checkup to tackle before the holiday rush, a teaching moment from Wise-Lee, and a few dates worth celebrating. Let's finish the year strong, together!

The holidays will eat up most of 2026. Before the rush hits, here's a quick checkup to do now, while things are still calm.
🔍 Review Your Policies
Life changes fast. A new car, a home update, a new driver in the family, even a new roof can change what you need. Do your coverage limits still match your life?
👨👩👧👦 Update Your Beneficiaries
Marriages, divorces, new babies, new grandbabies. If your beneficiary designations are more than a couple of years old, give them a fresh look. This one takes five minutes and matters more than almost anything else on the list.
📸 Photograph Your Valuables
Ten minutes with your phone today can save you headaches later. Walk through each room, open the closets, and snap away. Store the photos somewhere safe, like the cloud. If you ever have a claim, you'll be glad you did.
💸 Bundle and Save
One call could lower your total bill before the holidays. If your Auto and Home are with different companies, ask us what bundling could save you.

🤝 How Can We Help
A quick review takes about 15 minutes, and it's free. Just reply to this email, and we'll walk through it with you. No pressure, no jargon.

🦉 Wise-Lee's Wisdom Corner
Did you know? Your homeowners policy may protect your belongings even when they're far from home. That laptop stolen from your car on vacation, or the bike taken from a hotel garage? Most policies include off-premises coverage for personal property, typically a percentage of your contents limit. It's one of the most overlooked perks in the policy. Ask us what your limit looks like, you might be pleasantly surprised.

📰 Florida Insurance News in Brief
The 1% FIGA surcharge is gone. The emergency assessment on all Florida property insurance premiums ended October 1, two years ahead of schedule. Any policy renewing on or after October 1 should no longer show the surcharge on the declarations page. The early end is expected to save Florida policyholders about $650 million over the next two years.
The market keeps stabilizing. Citizens, the state's insurer of last resort, has dropped below 300,000 policies as private carriers return, and regulators continue approving rate decreases across the state. Competition is good news for your wallet.
